EDUC B9: Getting Started

This LibGuide is to support Michelle Hart's online EDUC B9 - Foundations of Literacy

Research Projects

Literacy Research Project:

Students will create a 5-10 minute argumentative presentation in which, using research and specific examples, they appraise and recommend an age-appropriate method for integrating literacy. Students will use Internet and BC Library database resources to research topics.

WHERE do I search?

Start with your textbook; that's a great source! To find articles, be sure to look in ERIC in EBSCOhost. You can also find reputable sources under the Finding Websites tab of this LibGuide.

HOW do I search?

We recommend using one, or a combination, of the following search terms for  your topic (these are merely a starting point; other terms can be used):

literacy, teach*, age (or use class level such as Pre-School, Kinder*, early childhood, etc.), "age appropriate" integrat*.

Fun Presentation Programs

If you would like to present your research in a fun way, here is a very small list of free sources (most of these do have cost versions as the capabilities become more advanced).
