Introduction to College Research: Finding Articles

This guide is an introduction to BC libraries and college-level research. New students and Early College students will find this a great place to start.

Using Library Databases

Databases are searchable collections of reliable, vetted resources, like magazines, academic journals, newspapers, and encyclopedias. We pay for access to these resources through subscriptions--like Netflix, but for articles!

  • Vetted= already evaluated or fact-checked

Databases are most often categorized by topic (meaning it will contain magazines and journals of a particular subject) so pick the database that is best for your topic. There are some introductory videos below of our most popular databases.
