Narrowing Your Topic

Before you start your research, you need to create a narrow research topic or question that fits the scope of your assignment. You also need search terms that describe your topic so that you can use them to find sources for your topic. This page will help you do these things.

One place to start looking for possible topics are the following databases:

Gale Opposing Viewpoints has a cool tool that can help ypu narrow your topic: the Topic Finder. 

Click on "Advanced Search." 

Click on "Topic Finder." 

Enter your topic. 

You can view your subtopics in either tile or wheel form.
