Library Research Skills: Finding Print Books and Ebooks: BC Library Layout

What is the layout of the BC Library's print collection?

Notice on the map below there are color-coded areas and letters on the bookcases.  The top of the map shows the reference desks at the top of the stairs.  There are signs on the ends of each bookcase, color-coded to match the section on the map.  The pink and blue sections on the right side of the library, by the windows (left side on the map), are periodicals (magazines, journals, and newspapers), with pink being the current calendar year and blue the older issues, organized alphabetically by name of the periodical.  The green section in the top, middle is the reference book collection.  The white section on the left side of the library (right on the map) and wrapping around the back is the general book collection.  Also notice on the map there are letters on the signs on the ends of each bookcase.  These letters correspond with the Library of Congress Classification System shown on the previous tab.  For both the green and white sections, the alphabet starts in the back right (on the map) corner of that section and snakes alphabetically up and down, back to front, then front to back.
