In addition to the DAPPR Test, there are some online websites meant to help fact check media sources.

Media Bias Fact Check

This is an independent online media outlet that categorizes news/media organizations. Each news/media organization is listed on a partisan and factual reporting scale.

Use the search bar at the top right corner to type in the news organization you are checking.

A Word About Fake News

Fake news is everywhere on the internet. Students must be extremely careful when it comes to using news websites. The CRAAP test should help weed out the bad sites. However, sometimes it can be difficult to catch. Below you will find some warning signs to watch out for.

Snopes is a highly regarded fact-checking website. They fact check news stories, myths and urban legends.

Use the search bar at the top of the website to fact check claims made in articles. You can type in a headline or use keywords from the article.

Politifact

This is an award-winning site that fact checks political claims.This is a great place to go to fact-check politicians, debates, and any political claims made on social media, television or print sources.
